UK men's soccer prevails 3-0 against Florida Atlantic

Freshman Xahne Reid broke what had been nearly an hour-long scoreless deadlock when he hit a 35-yard screamer into the right upper 90 in the 59th minute in Kentucky's 3-0 victory against Florida Atlantic on Sunday at the Bell Complex in Lexington.

The freshman added another goal, his third of the season, with 61 seconds left to seal the win. Stefan Stojkovic scored his third goal of the season in the 68th minute.

Goalkeeper Callum Irving earned his 21st career shutout, moving him within one of tying UK's all-time record.

"It was a great team win," defender Jordan Wilson said. "It's been tough games that we've dropped points from in the past. To takes points where we're meant to take points is a big boost for the team. Three clean sheets, three wins going into New Mexico sets us up nicely."

It was Kentucky's third straight victory, improving its record to 4-2-1. The Cats are 2-0-0 in Conference USA play with a trip to No. 7 New Mexico coming up next.
