University of Kentucky golfer Tyler "Chip" McDaniel finished second in a 90-player field at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Invitational on Wednesday.
McDaniel, who is entering his sophomore year at Kentucky this fall, finished with a three-round score of 203, 13 strokes under par.
The tournament champion, 30-year-old Chattanooga-area amateur Taylor Lewis, tallied a 15-under 201.
The invitational was played at the Council Fire Golf Club, a par-72 course covering 6,999 yards.
McDaniel, a native of Manchester, Ky., posted three consecutive scores in the 60s, shooting a 69 on Monday, a 68 on Tuesday and a 66 on Wednesday.
In the final round, McDaniel scored an eagle on the par-4 No. 8 hole. He had three more birdies on the back nine.
McDaniel started all 11 tournaments for the Wildcats as a freshman and ranked second on the team with a 72.12 scoring average. He was an All-Southeastern Conference Freshman Team selection.
