Andy Burns' three-hit, two-homer performance powered Kentucky to a 5-2 win over Morehead State at Cliff Hagan Stadium Tuesday.
Burns, a sophomore third baseman, finished 3-for-4 en route to the first multihomer game of his career.
Matt Little tossed a perfect ninth to earn his third save of the year in as many tries. In four appearances, the right-hander has a 1.29 ERA, fanning five in seven innings and allowing two hits.
Kentucky (7-0) used six pitchers, with starter Sean Bouthilette allowing five hits and no runs in 21⁄3 innings. Freshman Sam Kidd (1-0) got his first career win, striking out two and allowing one run through the fifth and sixth innings.
Chris Bisson was 2-for-3 for the Cats, with a walk and a stolen base, and extended his hitting streak to a team-high seven games. Bisson is hitting .414 (12-for-29), with eight runs scored, a triple, two homers and 10 RBI.
Morehead State starter Josh Schneider (1-2) took the loss, allowing three runs and four hits in 11⁄3 innings. The Eagles fell to 4-6.
Kentucky returns to action Thursday for three games in California. UK faces San Diego State, San Diego and Monmouth.
