Former University of Kentucky pitcher Logan Darnell will be called up from Triple-A Rochester to start for the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reported.

Darnell will pitch at home against the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 p.m. ET.

The left-hander made his major-league debut earlier this season and threw three shutout innings against the Cleveland Indians on May 6 in his only appearance. He didn't give up a hit or walk and had one strikeout.

"Darnell was unbelievable," Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire said after the game. "Lights out."

Darnell has made 17 starts at Rochester, where he is 5-5 with a 3.43 ERA. He has 73 strikeouts in 941⁄3 innings.

He was a sixth-round pick by the Twins in 2010.

Darnell was 10-9 with a 5.05 ERA in three seasons with the Wildcats.
