Trainer Todd Pletcher and UK basketball coach Billy Gillispie will coach a group of jockeys as they take on a 6th-grade AAU team in a charity battle, Bloodhorse.com reported Wednesday. The event will raise money for The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.
The Texas Titans feature Grant Troutt, son of WinStar Farm co-owners Kenny and Lisa Troutt. The boys placed second in the 2008 Division I AAU Boys Basketball National Tournament. The jockeys, whose team will include Robby Albarado, John Velasquez and Kent Desormeaux, defeated the group last year, when they were 5th-graders.
The game will be held Aug. 7 at Saratoga Springs High School in New York.
