Fast Break: A quick summary of Saturday's Kentucky loss at Indiana

Talking points

Assembly Hall was rocking, but early on intensity ruled over execution. After Michael Kidd-Gilchrist helped the Cats get up 20-14, IU went on a 16-2 run over a rattled UK team for a 30-22 lead. UK finished the half with seven straight points. Anthony Davis was saddled with foul trouble throughout. IU started draining threes and took a 10-point lead early in the second half. Behind Doron Lamb and Marquis Teague UK came back to set up a dramatic finish.

Telling numbers

■ Indiana had a 27-6 scoring edge on three-pointers.

■ Kentucky, after turning it over nine times against North Carolina, committed 13 in the first half Saturday.

■ Kidd-Gilchrist and Davis combined for 18 of UK's 30 rebounds. Terrence Jones and Darius Miller combined for three.

■ Combined, the teams made eight of their first 28 shots from the field. After that, they went 47-for-84.

■ Free throws: IU was 10-for-12 in first half; UK 1-for-4.

Thumbs Up

■ Kidd-Gilchrist brings it every game. 18 points, nine rebounds and a warrior's mentality.

■ Marquis Teague, after a terrible first-half homecoming, made all six shots and scored 15 points in the second half.

Thumbs Down

■ Would someone find Terrence Jones? Two baskets, one rebound, six turnovers.

■ Darius Miller responded late, but the team's veteran can't wait 30 minutes to get going.

■ UK continues to not guard three-pointers. IU hit seven straight at one point and finished 9-for-15. The final one knocked UK from the unbeaten ranks.

■ Inability to hit late free throws cost UK.
