Kentucky guard A'dia Mathies is one of 35 players who have accepted an invitation to attend the 2011 USA Basketball Women's World University Games Team Trials this summer.

Louisville's Monique Reid also accepted an invitation, as have Southeastern Conference standouts Lasondra Barrett (LSU), Glory Johnson (Tennessee) and Shekinna Stricklen (Tennessee). Notre Dame's Natalie Novosel, a Lexington Catholic High School graduate, also received an invitation.

The tryouts will take place May 22-25 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mathies, a 5-foot-9 guard, was UK's second-leading scorer with 12.8 points a game and helped the Cats to their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

She was named to the league's All-Defensive team and was an All-SEC second-team selection.

Kentucky Miss Basketball and Louisville signee Sara Hammond will be named a Parade All-American when the magazine's annual list comes out Sunday.

The 6-2 forward from Sweet Sixteen champion Rockcastle County was named the state's first McDonald's All-American this spring.

The 40-player team consisting of players from 30 states will be announced Sunday.
