The Southeastern Conference's head coaches voted the Kentucky women's basketball team to finish fourth this season in the preseason poll released Wednesday.

The coaches also honored senior guards Jennifer O'Neill and Bria Goss as first- and second-team All-SEC selections, respectively.

Last month, the media that cover the SEC predicted the league's top four in the same order of finish as the coaches: South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Kentucky.

Kentucky's Matthew Mitchell, UK's all-time winningest coach, enters his eighth season with the Cats after leading them to a 26-9 (10-6 SEC) mark last season. UK ended the season with a No. 10 national ranking in The Associated Press poll and the program's school-record fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, including a third consecutive appearance in the Sweet 16.

Seven letter winners return from last season's squad, including top scorer and SEC Co-6th Woman of the Year O'Neill, and starters Goss and Janee Thompson. Also returning are senior center Azia Bishop and senior forward Jelléah Sidney, along with the sophomore duo of Linnae Harper and Makayla Epps.

O'Neill led the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game last season. Goss averaged 10.2.

Kentucky continues preparations for the 2014-15 season when it hosts Pikeville for an exhibition game in Memorial Coliseum on Thursday night. Admission to the game is free.

Pikeville, an NAIA school, has already started its regular season, having defeated West Virginia Tech 91-85 and Midway 77-61.
