Kentucky will be without key reserve versus Ole Miss

Kentucky will be without a key player tonight against Ole Miss with swing player Makenzie Cann missing the game while battling an illness.

Cann has averaged seven points, 4.5 rebounds during Kentucky’s four-game win streak.

Her absence leaves UK with eight available players against the Rebels: the Cats’ five regular starters as well as freshman Jaida Roper and walk-ons LaShae Halsel and Paige Poffenberger.

Reserve guard Jessica Hardin, who has missed the past seven games while working through the concussion protocol, has been cleared for non-contact practice activity but not game action.

A team spokesman confirmed Cann’s illness to the Herald-Leader and said that the former Anderson County standout is expected to return in time for UK’s game at Missouri on Monday night.
