Lumpkin, Johnson out for WKU game

On Monday, Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks called defenders Micah Johnson and Ricky Lumpkin "doubtful" for Saturday's game against Western Kentucky thanks to a set of high ankle sprains.

After Wednesday morning's practice, Brooks said "doubtful" seems far too optimistic.

"I'd say Micah and Ricky are out for this week," Brooks said. "I'm just hopeful they'll be able to return next week."

Johnson, a junior linebacker, leads the team in tackles with 17, including 15 solo tackles and 21/2 tackles for a loss. Lumpkin, a sophomore tackle, has six tackles in three games this season, including two for a loss.

Freshman quarterback Randall Cobb, suffering from his own high ankle sprain, remains out indefinitely.
