The University of Kentucky is in negotiations to play its 2009 football season opener against Miami (Ohio) University at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium.
UK spokesman Tony Neely confirmed that the schools are discussing the possibility of playing on Sept. 5 at the 65,535-seat stadium, which has been the home of the Cincinnati Bengals since 2004.
Nothing is official, but completing a deal with Miami would put the finishing touches on the UK schedule for next season.
The Wildcats have two available dates, Sept. 5 and Sept. 12. If they end up playing Miami on Sept. 5, they would have an open date before the Sept. 19 home game with Louisville and then have to play on 11 consecutive Saturdays to finish the season.
