UK-WKU game gets cable channel

Lexington cable provider Insight Communications will air Saturday's Western Kentucky-Kentucky football game live on Channel 14 for all customers, the company announced Thursday.

The game will air on what is normally a public access channel because it's being broadcast regionally by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast, a cable-only channel that is not offered as part of Insight's cable lineup.

Insight spokesman Jason Keller said the company has an arrangement with ESPN that allows it to air the game for no extra cost, but "it requires a tremendous amount of internal technical work to take the feed of the game since it's a channel we don't typically carry."
