University of Kentucky athletes set a school record for graduation rate in the annual report issued Thursday by the NCAA.

UK teams have now broken or tied the school record for earning diplomas every year since the NCAA began charting graduation eight years ago.

Kentucky's Graduation Success Rate, a four-year composite statistic for the freshman classes of 2002-03 through 2005-06, was 79 percent for all of its scholarship athletes combined.

Four UK women's sports posted 100 percent GSRs during the four-year period — basketball, golf, gymnastics and tennis.

Men's basketball exceeded the national average of 68 with a 78 percent GSR. Football posted a 65, just below the national average of 68.
