Kentucky’s Boom Williams was picked Third Team All-Southeastern Conference by members of the media in Hoover, Ala., this week for the annual Media Days.
The junior running back averaged a school record 7.1 yards per carry last season rushing for 855 yards in 10 games in 2015 with six touchdowns.
Over his two-year career at UK, Williams has 195 rushes for 1,341 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has managed 2,088 all-purpose yards as well.
This is the second preseason honor for Williams, who was named a preseason candidate for the 2016 Doak Walker Award, which annually honors college football’s top running back, on Thursday.
Georgia running back Nick Chubb and Louisiana State’s Leonard Fournette were selected to the First Team. Tennessee’s Jalen Hurd and Vandy’s Ralph Webb were tabbed Second Team.
