Kentucky basketball fans making the trek to Indianapolis for this weekend's NCAA Tournament games will also have the opportunity to watch a future Wildcat play on the most important night of his high school career.
Trey Lyles — one of UK's four signees for the class of 2014 — will lead Arsenal Tech against Lake Central in the Indiana Class 4A state championship.
The game will be played Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse — home of the Indiana Pacers — and is scheduled to tip off around 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $15, which includes admission to the 3A state title game at 6 p.m.
Arsenal Tech — an Indianapolis public school established in 1912 — has never won a state championship.
Lyles is averaging 24 points, 13 rebounds and nearly four assists per game this season. The 6-foot-10 power forward was injured during the Indiana state playoffs last season, and his team lost its first full game without him.
Tech (26-2) has bounced back this season, emerging as one of the top high school basketball teams in the country. The Titans won 80-61 in their regular-season matchup with Lake Central (22-3) on Jan. 3.
