Five-star basketball recruit Carlton Bragg announced his commitment to Kansas on Thursday, becoming the first member of the Jayhawks' class of 2015.
Bragg chose Kansas over fellow finalists Kentucky and Illinois. Kentucky Coach John Calipari and assistant Barry "Slice" Rohrssen watched him last weekend at a showcase in Wheeling, W.Va.
Scout.com ranks Bragg — a 6-foot-9 power forward from Cleveland — as the No. 12 overall prospect in the class of 2015.
UK already has signed 6-11 post player Skal Labissiere for next season, along with guards Isaiah Briscoe and Charles Matthews.

The Cats have scholarship offers out to uncommitted post players Thomas Bryant, Cheick Diallo, Ivan Rabb, Caleb Swanigan and Stephen Zimmerman, as well as small forwards Jaylen Brown and Brandon Ingram, and combo guard Malik Newman.
There will be more head-to-head recruiting battles between the Wildcats and Jayhawks as the 2015 cycle continues. Kansas joins UK among the small group of finalists for Brown, Diallo, Ingram, Newman, Rabb and Zimmerman.
