Kentucky Coach John Calipari ranks second in a list of men’s basketball coaching salaries compiled by USA Today and published Wednesday.

Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski checks in at No. 1 with more than $8.9 million in compensation, ahead of Calipari’s more than $7.9 million.

Ohio State’s Chris Holtmann is the only other coach with more than $5 million in annual salary, according to the listing. Holtmann, a Kentucky native, receives just more than $7.1 million.

Louisville’s interim coach, David Padgett, comes in 67th with $800,000 in salary.

No other teams from Kentucky were included in the list, which asked for information on 85 coaches from major conferences and schools that have made at least three of the past five NCAA Tournaments.
