Former Lexington Catholic High School standout Natalie Novosel is among 14 finalists who will try out for USA Basketball's World University Games team.
Tryouts run Sunday through Aug. 8 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The 12 players who make the team will then depart for the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.
Novosel will be joined at the tryouts by two of her Notre Dame teammates, Skylar Diggins and Devereaux Peters.
Notre Dame finished as the runner-up in last season's NCAA Tournament, falling to Texas A&M in the title game.
Novosel started all 39 games and led the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game. She also led the Fighting Irish in three-pointers and three-point percentage.
Tennessee and Stanford have two finalists each, in the Volunteers' Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen, and the Cardinal's Chiney and Nnemkadi Ogwumike.
The other seven finalists are Elena Delle Donne of Delaware, Jacki Gemelos of Southern Cal, Keisha Hampton of DePaul, Shenise Johnson of Miami, Lynetta Kizer of Maryland, Odyssey Sims of Baylor and April Sykes of Rutgers.
Iowa State's Bill Fennelly is the head coach, and will be assisted by Duquesne's Suzie McConnell-Serio and Georgetown's Terri Williams-Flournoy.
