Gibbs McKinley headed in the game's lone goal in the opening minutes of the second half to give No. 15 Henry Clay a 1-0 win over No. 5 Lexington Catholic and send the Blue Devils to the finals of the 11th Region Tournament.

McKinley's goal came off a Mary Ford Rodes assist, a corner kick from the far side.

LexCath coach Terry Quigley called McKinley's score a "beautiful goal" and the Blue Devils' defense exceptional.

"They kept us from being dangerous," Quigley said in a phone interview with the Herald-Leader.

The Blue Devils (13-4-4) will meet Paul Dunbar in the finals on Saturday.

No. 16 Paul Dunbar 3, Woodford Co. 0: Katie Craff scored a goal off an Alyssa Montgomery assist in the waning minutes of the first half to kickstart the offense for the Bulldogs (16-6).

Shelby Turcotte and Keke Sidney scored goals in the second half, with assists from Reilly Teal and Turcotte, respectively.
