Women's soccer trio from Central Kentucky named to All-Heartland first team

Three players from Central Kentucky were named Tuesday to the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team for women's soccer.

Lucinda Combs, a junior goalkeeper from Boyle County, was named the league's defensive MVP for anchoring a Rose-Hulman defense that ranked first in the HCAC.

Senior forward Alyssa Kruse of Transylvania and sophomore forward Elaine Simpson of Hanover — both from Tates Creek — joined Combs on the first team.

Transylvania freshman midfielder Lindsey Sizemore from Woodford County was named to the All-HCAC second team.

Transylvania sophomore defender Erin Koch from South Oldham earned honorable mention. Pioneers freshman defender Megan Wall made the all-sportsmanship team, as did Mount St. Joseph senior defender Hailey Gadd from Fort Thomas Highlands.
