Some of the top performances from the first week of playoff football in Kentucky:
K-Ci Carmichael, Bryan Station: His 22-carry, 145-yard outpouring on the ground lifted the Defenders in a 39-14 win over Tates Creek in their Class 6A opener. He also had a TD on the ground.
Mason Alstatt, Lafayette: He kept the Generals alive with an 82-yard fumble recovery with 2:12 left in regulation to force overtime. He grabbed eight catches for 78 yards and two TDs.
Joquise Buford, Henry Clay: The Blue Devils' bellcow rushed for 107 yards and three TDs in a rout of Madison Central.
Ryan Stucky, Lexington Christian: The sophomore grabbed nine of quarterback Brayden Miller's 14 completions, finishing with 119 yards and one TD.
Donnie Morris, Lexington Catholic: He had only two receptions for LexCath in its rout of Bardstown — managing 111 yards and one TD out of them.
Jefferson Harkless, Paul Laurence Dunbar: The sophomore back carried 25 times for 182 yards and three TDs in the Bulldogs' 27-21 overtime loss at Lafayette. He also had the only Dunbar reception for 13 yards.
Peyton Burke, Tates Creek: In his final high school game, the Class 6A passing leader threw for 287 yards and two TDs in a losing effort against Bryan Station.
Cash Jones, McCracken County: He went for six TDs and 291 yards on 13-for-15 passing for the Mustangs.
