MaxPreps on Wednesday released its updated list of football programs with the most wins entering the 2016 season. While Valdosta (Ga.) tops the list with 899 victories, the next two schools are from Kentucky: Highlands (876) and Male (859), each of whom made deep playoff runs in 2015 (Male won the Class 6A title) and are perennial contenders.

Washington (Ohio) came in at No. 4 with 853 wins. Mayfield, which won the Class 2A title last season, rounded out the top five with 847 victories.

Paducah Tilghman (No. 30 with 765 wins), Danville (No. 40, 754) and St. Xavier (No. 44, 738) also ranked among the top 50.

Kentucky boasts more teams in the top 50 than any other state. Georgia, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas all landed four programs on the list.
