Scott County falls to Texas team

Boys

■ No. 1 Scott County took national powerhouse Duncanville (Texas) to overtime before falling 77-71 in the Bill Keightley HoopsFest at Marshall County on Saturday. Chad Jackson scored 23 for the Cards and University of Kentucky commitment Dakotah Euton added 15 points, 15 rebounds and five steals. Duncanville is ranked No. 2 in the nation by Prep Nation. The same poll has Scott County ranked 14th.

■ UK signee Jon Hood had 30 points and eight rebounds, but No. 21 Madisonville fell to Marshall County 75-57 in the Bill Keightley HoopsFest at Marshall County. Hood also had three blocks and two steals.

■ Senior guard Terry Jarvis scored 14 points and was the only Madison Central player in double figures in the Indians' 49-38 home win over Montgomery County. Senior forward Keyshawn Simpson added seven points and 16 rebounds.

Girls

■ Katie Allen scored 21 points — making all 10 of her free throws — and grabbed nine rebounds to lead No. 24 Highlands to a 54-48 victory over 10th-ranked Lexington Catholic. Bekah Towles added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Maggie Wilson led the visiting Knights with 16 points.

■ Junior forward Ebony Rowe had 16 points and 10 rebounds and No. 7 Paul Dunbar held on for a 51-48 win at No. 19 Nelson County.

Notre Dame got off to a big start and coasted through the second half to rout No. 2 Lexington Christian 86-63 in the Vi Gerding Classic at Highlands. Courtney Clifton scored 25 points to lead LCA and UK commitment Sara Beth Barnette added 13 points.

Garrard County struggled to a 30-24 win over host Sayre in the Lady Spartan Invitational. Anne MacNeil scored 11 points to lead the Spartans, who shot 24 percent from the field.
