Madisonville star and University of Kentucky signee Jon Hood will be the headline attraction in the Republic Bank Holiday Classic that begins Friday at Lexington Catholic.
Hood has started the season strong, averaging 30 points through seven games.

Madisonville plays St. Xavier in the first round of the 16-team tournament, which features several teams rated in the top 25 in the pre-season coaches' poll.
No. 6 Clark County, No. 7 Manual, No. 9 Lexington Catholic and No. 10 Hazard are among the favorites, along with No. 20 Adair County and No. 21 Madisonville.
Besides Hood, other top players in the tournament include Jacob Jenkins of Manual, Vee Sanford of Lexington Catholic, Darren Ballou of Adair County, Josh Whitaker of Hazard, Aaron Watts of McCreary Central, Chuck Jones of Hopkins Central, and the Clark County sophomore duo of Robbie Stenzel and Vinny Zollo.
