Girls: No. 1 Manual beaten by Lou. Christian

Allison Karst's layup at the buzzer in overtime gave Louisville Christian, ranked No. 15 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, a 68-67 upset of top-ranked Manual in the 7th Region tournament.

Next up for Louisville Christian is No. 19 Sacred Heart, which defeated Moore in another opening-round game at Atherton High School.

Antonita Slaughter scored 25 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Lady Centurions. Karst added 21 points, six rebounds and four steals. Manual's Mecheal Guess had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

No. 19 Sacred Heart 60, Moore 49 (7th): Morgan Clemons went 14-for-20 from the field and scored 29 points in the Valkyries' victory. Annamarie Campbell added 11 points and Mary Gordon Stough had 12 rebounds. Ondrea Shaw led the Lady Mustangs with 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Jeffersontown 48, Ballard 47 (7th): Leneette Holt hit eight of 11 shots and scored 18 points to go with nine rebounds in the Lady Chargers' victory. Camila Calderon added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists and three steals. Nicole Heitz and Larissa Stafford scored 15 apiece for the Lady Bruins.

No. 12 Mercy 67, Assumption 47 (7th): Julliann Miller had 21 points and six rebounds for the Jaguars.

Shelby County 43, South Oldham 42, OT (8th): Freshman Aaliyah Wells hit a pair of free throws to give the Lady Rockets an overtime victory against South Oldham at Simon Kenton. Wells finished with 16 points.

Southwestern 61, East Jeassamine 50 (12th): Danay Fothergill scored a game-high 23 points in the Warriors' victory against East Jessamine at Lincoln County. Liz Miller led the Jaguars with 17.

East Carter 51, Raceland 31 (16th): Jessica Marshall scored 26 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the host Lady Raiders' victory.

Lawrence County 64, East Ridge 58 (15th): Megan Cox's double-double — 14 points and 10 rebounds — helped the Lady Bulldogs win at the East Kentucky Expo at Pikeville.

Belfry 58, South Floyd 49 (15th): Jillnell Bevins and Amy McCoy scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, in the Lady Pirates' win at the East Kentucky Expo Center.

Green County 63, Bardstown 49 (5th): Micah Jones' 30 points led the Dragons past the Lady Tigers at Hart County.

Harlan County 45, Whitley County 31 (13th): Kalee Carroll scored 10 points and Miranda Davenport had nine points and five rebounds for the Lady Dragons in The Arena at Corbin.

Breathitt County 55, Leslie County 48 (14th): Kendall Noble, a sophomore, scored 24 points to lead the Lady Bobcats to a win at Letcher County Central. Hillary Moore had a game-high 25 points for Leslie County.
