Scott County star Ge-Lawn Guyn announced Tuesday that he will play basketball at Brewster Academy, a prep school in New Hampshire, next season.
Guyn committed to Charlotte last year but backed off and reopened his recruitment to see what other offers might come this season.
Several Division I colleges showed strong interest in the 6-foot-2 guard, including Baylor, Dayton, UT-Chattanooga, and Virginia Tech, but Guyn decided to go to Brewster to hone his game.
"I had lot of good opportunities with a lot of Division I schools," Guyn said, "but I felt like I needed an extra year to get bigger and strong because I had a lot of knee problems with tendinitis this season."
Guyn averaged 12 points and four rebounds in helping Scott County reach the Sweet Sixteen semifinals. He averaged 15 points as a junior.
Guyn played at Henry Clay his freshman year before transferring to Scott County.
He is the third Cardinals' senior all-stater to decide where he'll play hoops next season. Chad Jackson is headed to James Madison, and Dakotah Euton signed with Akron.
