No. 2 J-town handed its first loss of season
No. 2 Jeffersontown, missing three starters, suffered its first loss of the season to No. 3 Eastern 64-57 Friday night at Bellarmine University.
J-town Coach Jeff Morrow announced before the game that Zach Price (deep thigh bruise), Tony Kimbro Jr. (sprained knee) and Harry Cross (strained Achilles' tendon) would miss the Friday game, and also the Chargers' game against Cincinnati Roger Bacon at Lexington Catholic on Saturday.
Eastern, which lost to J-town 69-61 in the finals of the King of the Bluegrass the week before Christmas, won the rematch. Remy Abell led the Eagles (12-1) with 19 points and Lyonell Gaines had 17.

Desmond Dorsey had 24 points for J-town (13-1).
Morrow said in an e-mail the injuries to Price, Kimbro and Cross "are not season-ending as some have suggested, and they will return to our lineup as soon as possible."
