High school basketball highlights: Jan. 11


Woodford County junior guard Addison Hollin made a 5-foot floater off his own offensive rebound with 8 seconds to go in overtime to lift the Yellowjackets to a 51-50 victory against Madison Southern.

Jay Johnson led Woodford County with 24 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Aaron Ponder had 26 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for Madison Southern.

Bryan Station outscored Pendleton County by 16 in the third quarter en route to a 67-51 victory in Lexington. Deon Renfro led the way with 22 points and Larry Morton had 15.

■ Taylor Gover scored 33 points and was 4-for-6 from three-point range in Pulaski County's 72-54 victory at Boyle County. Pulaski County, ranked 20th in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, scored 29 points off 24 Boyle County turnovers. Cody Johnson added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Maroons.

Betsy Layne held off a fourth-quarter rally to defeat visiting Johnson Central 66-62. Nathan Martin scored a game-high 28 points and Casey Adkins had 20. Both finished with 10 rebounds.

Madison Central junior Hunter Allen had 18 points and 12 rebounds in an 88-78 victory at home against Mercer County.

■ Sawyer Denninston scored 22 points and 14 rebounds in Wolfe County's 74-54 defeat of visiting Oneida Baptist.


■ Maddie Mitchell had 16 points and five rebounds, and Sophie O'Rourke hit all 12 of her free-throw attempts and scored 14 in Sayre's 48-44 victory against visiting Frankfort. Gabby Bowie added eight points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots for the Lady Spartans. The Lady Panthers got 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and six steals from Shauntae Brown.
