High school basketball highlights: Jan. 22


■ Robbie Stenzel scored 19 points and Corey Rogers had 17 points, eight rebounds and four steals to help Clark County, ranked third in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, cruise to a 73-46 victory against Covington Catholic in the Toyota Classic at Scott County.

■ Brandon Hatton was 11-for-14 from the field, scoring 27 points to go with four assists in No. 20 Dixie Heights' 81-67 victory against Paul Dunbar in the Toyota Classic. Zeke Pike added 21 points and Matt Trammel had 10 assists for the Colonels (17-2). The Bulldogs' William Gary scored 19 points.

■ No. 5 Lexington Catholic jumped out to an 11-point lead after the first quarter and went on to defeat visiting Clay County 73-53. Craig Floyd led the way for the Knights with 21 points. Taylor Martin was next with 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals. The Tigers' Matthew Mitchell had 17 points and eight rebounds, both team highs.

■ Nate Losey made two free throws with six seconds left in overtime to give Campbell County a 70-69 victory at No. 22 Holmes.

Mercer County started overtime on a 9-2 run and went on to defeat visiting West Jessamine 85-79. Clay Cinnamon had 30 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Titans. Both Dylan Pohl and Chase Fain scored 17 for the Colts.

■ Up 31-26 in the third quarter, Frankfort went on a 17-0 run to put away host Berea in the 11th Region All "A" Classic. Dorian Frazier scored 19 points for the Panthers (16-5).


Danville freshman Laken Gray's three-pointer beat the buzzer and Monticello in the 12th Region All "A" Classic finals.

■ Sara Hammond scored 23 points to go with 15 rebounds, four blocks, four assists and two steals in No. 2 Rockcastle County's 53-23 defeat of visiting Casey County.

■ Whitney Belle Jackson and Morgan Chestnut scored 16 apiece to lead No. 14 Clay County to a 48-36 victory against Lafayette in the Toyota Classic at Scott County. Shomari Kendrick had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Lafayette.

■ Sydney Moss scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in No. 6 Boone County's 68-42 win against visiting Highlands.

■ Chelsey Ford, an eighth-grader, scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Woodford County's 67-41 win against visiting Franklin County.

■ Eighth-grader Asia Sims had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven steals in Paris' 41-18 defeat of visiting Bourbon County.
