Montgomery County used an early 17-4 run to build a lead that stayed near double digits the rest of the way in a 65-54 victory against Harrison County in the first round of the 10th Region girls' tournament at Bourbon County on Tuesday.
Olivia Colliver was 8-for-9 from the free-throw line and scored 16 points to go with five steals for the Lady Indians. Macie Spence had 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Harrison County's top performance came from Jordan Doram, who had 15 points. Eight of her 13 rebounds were on the offensive end.
Campbell Co. 51, St. Patrick 44 (10th): The Lady Camels jumped out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter. Kennedy Berkley scored a team-high 14 points for Campbell County, and Kaitlin Siegmundt had seven points, nine rebounds and four steals.
No. 5 Butler 63, Presentation 41 (6th): Megan Cureton led four Bearettes in double figures with 13 points and Butler (25-4) cruised to the win. Heather Wheat, Danielle Lawrence and Cora Moore scored 10 apiece.
Bailey Reeder was tops on the Toppers with 20 points. She also had six rebounds.
Louisville Holy Cross 48, Bullitt Central 46 (6th): A basket by Sydney Morabito with 2:09 to play gave Holy Cross a 42-40 lead and they held on from there. Morabito finished with a team-high 14 points, and Julie Skaggs added eight rebounds, seven blocks and four points.
Kristen Collins had 14 points and four rebounds for Bullitt Central.
Central 59, Pleasure Ridge Park 50 (6th): Brianna Averette had 21 points and seven steals and Jerea Brice scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Central.
Kelsey Adwell and Emily Hibbs scored 19 and 18 points, respectively, for PRP.
No. 24 Bullitt East 70, Doss 13 (6th): The Lady Chargers put away the Lady Dragons early, jumping out to a 25-4 lead through one quarter. They led 49-8 at halftime.
Bullitt East's Nikole Isabel scored a game-high 21 points. Meredith Polson had 11.
Corbin 40, Harlan 37 (13th): Down 24-11 at the half, Corbin rallied for the victory. Hayley Smith was the only Lady Redhounds player to reach double figures in scoring with 10. Shia Roberts added nine points and four rebounds.
Harlan's Kelly Cox had 19 points, five rebounds and three assists.
No. 14 Clay Co. 57, Pineville 26 (13th): Talaura Mathis hit six three-pointers to account for all 18 of her points for the Lady Tigers. Kayla Smith was next with 16 points to go with eight rebounds and three assists.
No. 23 Notre Dame 72, No. 16 Ryle 62 (9th): Junior forward Olivia Voskuhl scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Pandas. Notre Dame led by 16 at halftime, 37-21.
No. 12 Newport Central Catholic 60, Villa Madonna 27 (9th): Kiley Bartels led a balanced Thoroughbreds attack with 13 points.
Monroe Co. 58, Metcalfe co. 39 (4th): Caylan Bybee, who was 12-for-15 from the field and 7-for-9 from the line, scored 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Monroe County's victory.
Owen Co. 38, Simon Kenton 36 (8th): Owen County outscored Simon Kenton by nine in the fourth quarter to come from behind for the win.
No. 1 Eastern 75, No. 22 Fern Creek 60 (7th): Eastern's Kameron Woods, a 6-foot-8 senior center, had 17 points, 14 rebounds, four blocked shots and four assists. Remy Abell also had 17 points.
Lewis Co. 63, Boyd Co. 60 (16th): Terrence Smith had 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals for Lewis County. Koty Riley had 15 points and eight rebounds.
Boyd County had two players with double-doubles — Jacoby Mayse (11 points, 14 rebounds) and Brandon Lowe (10 and 12).
Rowan Co. 68, West Carter 58 (16th): Corey Hunter had 14 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks for the Vikings.
