High school basketball highlights: Dec. 11

Boys

■ Trey Gundy scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, but Henry Clay lost 71-64 to St. Xavier at Shelby County. Jordan Green also had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Blue Devils.

Henry Clay trailed by two with 7:06 to play before St. Xavier went on an 11-2 run. Robert Shaw and Chris Mitchell scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, for St. Xavier.

■ Sophomore Dylan Meade's layup with 20 seconds left gave Betsy Layne a 50-49 victory against Male in the Kentucky Farm Bureau Classic in the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center at Pikeville. Meade had 17 points.

■ Louisville Trinity used a 20-3 run in the second quarter to get past Rowan County 58-42 in the Kentucky Farm Bureau Classic at Pikeville. Senior Nathan Dieudonne led the Shamrocks with 21 points.

■ Jackson Davis scored 19 points to go with six rebounds and five steals in Lafayette's 71-38 victory at home against West Carter. Nick Trisko added 12 points and eight rebounds.

■ Marcus Williams scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Bryan Station's 91-63 loss to Princeton (Ohio) at Newport.

■ Tamron Manning had 23 points and six steals in Scott County's 81-72 victory at Pulaski County. Kody Johnson and Taylor Gover scored 27 and 22 points, respectively, for the Maroons.

Girls

Paul Dunbar outscored Ryle 17-1 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 54-43 win in the Lady Defender Classic at Bryan Station. Senior forward Morgan McEldowney scored 21 points and junior forward LaKeena Parks had 12 points, 12 rebounds and nine steals for Dunbar.

■ Bashaara Graves of Clarksville (Tenn.) had 31 points, 28 rebounds and seven assists and her team cruised past Scott County 102-43. Graves, who has committed to Tennessee and also considered Kentucky, Georgia and Vanderbilt, is ranked fifth in the Class of 2012 by ESPN. Mary Logsdon had 13 points for the host Lady Cardinals.

Russell County's LeeAnn Grider, a junior point guard, had 19 points and 10 assists in her team's 45-31 victory against Henry Clay in the Lady Defender Classic at Bryan Station.

■ Western Kentucky signee Micah Jones scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Green County's 50-39 win at Male.

Marion County's Kyven Goodin-Rogers, a junior who has committed to Louisville, had 18 points and nine rebounds in a 64-30 win at Madison Central.

■ Sarah Cooley hit seven of 11 shots and scored 17 points in Lafayette's 59-45 win against Rockcastle County in the Lady Defender Classic at Bryan Station.
