■ Harlan County's Alex Sergent, who hadn't made a shot since early in the second quarter, hit a three-pointer with less than a second left to give the Bears a 53-52 victory against Tug Valley, W.Va., in the School Boy Classic at Belfry.
"We kept telling Alex to not get down or get frustrated," Harlan County Coach Mike Jones said.
Sergent said the play worked out just as it was drawn up during a timeout.

"Tyler Miller came up to midcourt and kicked it to me on the run," Sergent said. "I listen to my coaches and they tell me to keep shooting and I'll make the next one."
Miller led Harlan County (7-1) with 17 points. Chad Massingill added 14 points and Sergent had 11.
■ Mike Terry, a senior forward, racked up 39 points to go with 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots in Fairview's 62-51 victory against Paintsville at Morgan County. Justin Davis also had a double-double for the Eagles with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
■ North Laurel's Jake Allen, a sophomore center, had a triple-double in North Laurel's 74-61 victory against Augusta at Bracken County. Allen had 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.
■ Clark County senior center Adam Fatkin scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Cardinals' 58-35 victory against Pendleton County at Ashland Blazer.
■ Butler led by nine heading into the fourth quarter before McCreary Central rallied for an 80-78 victory in overtime at Wayne County. Tyson Williams led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Williams also had 19 points and 12 rebounds in McCreary Central's other game, a 56-54 victory against Clinton, Tenn.
■ Collins' Dwayne Dez Marshall hit 11 of 15 shots and scored 27 points in a 64-58 victory against Elizabethtown at Nelson County. Marshall also had six rebounds, and Deshaun Johnson had 16 points.
■ Alex Botkin was 8-for-12 from the field and scored 18 points to go with 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals in Lexington Catholic's 68-39 victory against International, Calif., in the Surf N' Slam tournament in San Diego. The Lady Knights' Emily Johns added 16 points, six rebounds and five steals, and Octavia Wilson had 12 points and six assists.
■ Eighth-grader Sarah Price had 12 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, and Bath County rallied from a three-point deficit at the end of the third quarter to defeat Lloyd Memorial 53-46 at Williamstown.
■ Autumn Bell, a junior forward, had 17 points and 10 rebounds in Monticello's 59-29 victory against Williamsburg.
