Highlights: Dunbar, Lafayette boys win big

Mike Smith led Paul Dunbar with 21 points and five assists and Eric Trigg and E.J. Floreal had double-doubles in an 89-59 rout at Lexington Christian. Trigg and Floreal both scored 16 points. Trigg had 13 rebounds and Floreal had 11. Tyler Harville scored 16 points, including four three-pointers, for the Eagles. Matt Rose had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

■ Jackson Davis had 21 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots in Lafayette's 73-52 win at home against Tates Creek. The Generals scored 31 points off the Commodores' 25 turnovers. Tranard Chester added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists for Lafayette. Vincent Maddux had a team-high 17 points for Tates Creek.

■ Clay County sophomore Chip McDaniel scored 18 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter in a 68-67 victory at home against Jackson County.

■ Quin Richardson hit the go-ahead basket with 39 seconds left and Seth Crank added a pair of free throws to give Scott County, ranked fifth in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, an 89-86 overtime victory against No. 4 Henry Clay at Georgetown on Friday night.

It was the teams' second meeting this season. The Blue Devils won 87-77 on Dec. 22 in the finals of the Woodford County Invitational.

The Cardinals scored 27 points off turnovers and outscored the Blue Devils 24-6 from three-point range.

Richardson led the way with 24 points and six assists. Trent Gilbert had 20 points, and Jalen Haddix scored 18 to go with six rebounds and two assists.

Four Devils scored in double figures, led by Christen Cunningham, who had 23 points and seven assists. Jordan Green had 21 points and nine rebounds.
