High school basketball highlights: No. 3 Scott County boys defeat No. 12 Henry Clay

Trent Gilbert scored 33 points, including hitting four three-pointers and going 13-for-15 from the free-throw line, in Scott County's 82-69 victory at Henry Clay.

The Cardinals, No. 3 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, also got 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists from Tony Martini.

Jordan Green scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the No. 12 Blue Devils.

■ East Jessamine outscored visiting West Jessamine by six in the fourth quarter to come away with a 58-53 victory.

Ronnie Carson led the Jaguars (9-7) with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Daulton Peters had 21 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks for the Colts (11-4).

■ No. 7 Lafayette cruised to a 76-54 victory against Tates Creek. Jackson Davis had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Generals.

■ Quinn Pergande (21 points and 13 rebounds) and Justin Sanders (17, 10 and six assists) both had double-doubles in Sayre's 65-60 victory at Bath County.

The Wildcats' Blake Maze had 17 points.

■ No. 5 Covington Catholic led No. 4 Newport Central Catholic 32-27 at halftime when the officials postponed the game because of slick floor conditions.

A completion date for the game at Covington Catholic was to be determined.

■ Powell County's Brett Goodwin scored 30 points to go with 10 rebounds in an 84-75 victory against visiting Lee County.

Girls' highlights

■ Rebecca Cook scored 11 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked four shots in No. 3 Franklin County's 58-24 at Western Hills.

Nannilena White added 13 points and five assists.

■ Lexington Christian's Holly Huellemeier had 25 points and 16 rebounds in a 63-49 victory at home over Bourbon County.

■ Lexington Catholic (10-5) jumped out to a 22-2 lead through one quarter and went on to defeat visiting Tates Creek (0-15) 53-23. Tori Pippen led a balanced Lady Knights offense with 10 points.

■ Sayre's Molly Manella had 21 points, nine rebounds and six steals in a 57-24 win at home against Burgin. The Spartans also got 16 points, seven rebounds and five blocks from Gabby Bowie.
