LexCath wins opening game in Hawaii tourney

Senior forward Tanner Johnson had 31 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead the Lexington Catholic boys' basketball team to a 78-60 victory over St. Louis of Honolulu in its opening game at the Iolani Classic in Hawaii late Wednesday night.

Senior guard Jarod Griffin contributed nine points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Knights (5-2), who had 22 assists as a team in beating the top-rated squad in Honolulu.

Lexington Catholic was set to play University of Kentucky recruiting target Ivan Rabb and Bishop O'Dowd High School of Oakland, Calif., late Thursday night.
