The boys' championship game of the Gateway Holiday Classic got out of hand quickly with Lincoln County jumping out to a 26-4 lead after one quarter and cruising to an 82-51 win against Harrison County. Jacob Conway scored a game-high 29 points and also had nine rebounds and two steals in the Patriots' win Monday in Mt. Sterling. Timmy Taylor added 13 points and nine assists.
Sunday's semifinal losers — host Montgomery County and Mason County — needed overtime to decide their matchup Monday. The Royals hit 10 of 12 free-throw attempts in the extra period to pull way for a 72-63 victory. Mason County's Dorian Henry was 13-for-16 at the line overall. He had 31 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals. The Indians' Caswell Fuller had 10 points and 10 assists, and Art Walker's 17 points included five three-pointers.
■ Brooks Ely scored 23 points to go with 12 rebounds and West Jessamine defeated Clark County 44-43 to reach the championship game of the Berea Invitational. The Colts will play Clay County in the finals. Dalton Crouse had 10 rebounds and seven assists and hit his only field-goal attempt for West Jessamine.
■ Sayre rallied from 15 down in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then pulled away for a 79-72 victory over Bishop Brossart in the Henry County Invitational. Jake Duby, who was 17-for-18 at the free-throw line, had 33 points, three rebounds and three assists. The Spartans also got a double-double from Quinn Pergande, who had 18 points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals.

■ Knott County Central trailed Sagemont (Fla.) by 12 at halftime before rallying to tie it with eight seconds to go in the Beach Ball Classic quarterfinals in Myrtle Beach, S.C. But Luis Hurtado hit one of two free-throw attempts with four seconds left to hand the Patriots a 50-49 loss. Knott Central's stars struggled from the field. Camron Justice had 11 points after going 4-for-18, including 2-for-11 from three-point range. Evan Hall was 6-for-15 with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
■ Harrison Lane led four Lafayette players in double figures with 20 points in the Generals' 73-53 victory against Worthington Kilbourne (Ohio) in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County. Lucky Jackson added 18 points, six rebounds and four steals. Ross Jenkins and Jajuante Carpenter scored 13 apiece.
■ Loganville (Ga.) edged Franklin County 45-44 in a consolation game in the Landsair Ladies Classic in Greenville, Tenn. Malaka Frank scored a game-high 12 points and had six rebounds and five blocked shots for the Lady Flyers, who were limited to 25 percent shooting. Princess Stewart had 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
■ Rachel Blake scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had three assists and three steals in Lexington Catholic's 49-37 victory against Bishop Brossart in the LaRosa's Holiday Classic at Conner in Hebron.
■ Miami (Fla.) Country Day knocked off Elizabethtown, ranked No. 1 in Kentucky in the Herald-Leader's coaches' preseason poll, 61-60 in the Naples (Fla.) Holiday Shootout. Erin Boley had 24 points, 15 rebounds and three steals in the loss.
■ Scott County outscored Trimble County 10-7 in overtime to win 66-63 in the Community Trust Bank Invitational at Western Hills in Frankfort. Peyton Riddle led the way with 19 points, followed by Maaliya Owens' 17 and Juliette Smith's 16.
■ Shyla Calbert hit 11 of 12 free-throw attempts and finished with 15 points to help host Nelson County hold off Henry Clay 57-55 in the Franklin Family Chevrolet Holiday Jam. Kira Harman added 13 points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs got 12 points, 12 rebounds and six steals from T'Laya Lyvers.
