High school basketball roundup: Luke Johnson scores 37 points in LexCath’s win over LCA

Lexington Catholic 66, Lexington Christian 52 (boys): Luke Johnson had 37 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals to power host Lexington Catholic on Tuesday night. Johnson scored 12 of his team’s first 16 points, helping the Knights build an early 23-4 lead. Donovan Morris added 15 points and five assists. Kyle Rode led LCA with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Lafayette 74, Bryan Station 66: Ross Jenkins made 10 of 11 shots to score a game-high 22 points, and visiting Lafayette overcame Bryan Station’s hot three-point shooting. T.J. Downey added 16 points for Lafayette, and Jenkins had nine rebounds.

Scott County 72, Oldham County 58: Cooper Watts had 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead host Scott County. Rafel Few (19 points) and Andre Davis (15) combined to go 7-for-11 from three-point range for Bryan Station, which made 45.8 percent of its three-point attempts.

Sayre 53, Berea 24 (girls): Sayre scored the first 19 points of the game and coasted from there to win at home. Dee Dee Wheeler led all scorers with 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting. Ellie Alford added 12 points.
