High school basketball highlights: Bryan Station boys upset Scott County


Bryan Station 65, No. 5 Scott County 62: Tim Dunn scored 22 points, including three three-pointers, and the Defenders knocked off the Cardinals in Lexington. Bryan Station led by as many as 13 points before Scott County rallied to make it 61-all with 2:35 to go. Michael Moreno had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals.

No. 3 Henry Clay 55, No. 22 Madison Central 45: Leander Ridgeway and Jordan Houston both contributed double-doubles to the Blue Devils’ win in Lexington. Ridgeway finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while Houston had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

No. 11 Lafayette 66, No. 25 Lexington Catholic 63: Ross Jenkins scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Generals held on for a win at Lexington Catholic. Zan Payne had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights.

Lexington Christian 68, Covington Holy Cross 60: Kyle Rode and Tre King both scored 20 points and finished with double-doubles in the Eagles win at home. King also had 16 rebounds, and Rode had 11 boards and four steals. Carter Hendrickson added 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists for LCA.

No. 4 Covington Catholic 80, Scott 63: CJ Fredrick had 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four blocks for the Colonels.


No. 22 Henry Clay 43, Sayre 9: Led by Lexi Long’s game-high 11 points, the Blue Devils forced 25 turnovers and made quick work of the visiting Spartans.

No. 12 Sacred Heart 84, Scott 72: Kiki Samsel scored a game-high 26 points, including eight three-pointers, for the Valkyries.

Paul Dunbar 40, Lexington Catholic 39: Autumn Herriford hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left to give the Bulldogs the victory. She finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.
