High school football highlights: LexCath rolls over Mercer Co.

Lexington Catholic quarterback Kyle Bolin threw four touchdown passes, two to David Bouvier, in the Knights' 48-7 victory against visiting Mercer County on Friday.

Lexington Catholic, ranked 16th in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, totaled 203 yards rushing with 84 coming from Marcelis Logan and 83 from Amoh Kumengisa. Both ran for a touchdown and Kumengisa also had a TD reception.

Bolin, a junior quarterback who recently committed to play at Louisville, completed 12 of 19 passes for 145 yards.

Madison Central 47, Paul Dunbar 23: The Indians jumped out to a 28-0 lead and cruised to the road victory from there.

Dominique Dawkins, who ran for 196 yards on 17 carries, got the scoring started with a 19-yard run and added a 50-yard scoring run early in the third quarter.

Dunbar quarterback Blake Martin threw a 28-yard TD pass to Brandyn Duncan. Martin, who completed 10 of 33 pass attempts, also scored on a 1-yard run.

Dixie Heights 34, No. 20 Boone Co. 27: Zeke Pike, who has committed to play at Auburn, ran for three touchdowns and threw for another in the Colonels' win at home

Junior running back Colin Justice added 128 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Franklin Co. 55, West Jessamine 29: Flyers QB Logan Woodside just missed out on a 300-yard passing game, throwing for 299 yards and five touchdowns in a win at West Jessamine.

Four of Woodside's TD passes were to Ryan Timmons, who finished with six catches for 213 yards.

The Colts' four scores all came in spectacular fashion, three from Sean Donaldson on 70- and 32-yard yard interception returns and a 25-yard blocked punt return. Quarterback Ryan Horne added the fourth score on a 75-yard touchdown run.

No. 8 Scott Co. 48, Clark Co. 6: Scott County piled up 321 rushing yards to go with 115 through the air in a win against visiting Clark County.

Dierrius Dumphord led the way, running for 118 yards and three TDs. Josh Walls added 77 rushing yards and quarterback Ben Lawler ran for one score and threw for another.

Lexington Christian 52, Frankfort 14: Quarterback Lincoln Henzman threw four touchdown passes to Dima Ballard as the Eagles led 39-0 through three quarters and went on to defeat visiting Frankfort.

Justin King had seven catches for 179 yards and four TDs. He also had a 60-yard punt return for a score.

East Jessamine 21, Woodford Co. 0: Cameron Thomas, a senior running back, scored all three of his team's TDs in the host Jaguars' shutout.

Thomas' 191 rushing yards included scores from 10, 64 and 31 yards.

Trinity 36, Indianapolis Cathedral 14: James Quick returned the opening kickoff of the second half 98 yards for a touchdown to give the Shamrocks a 20-14 lead, and they pulled away from there for a win on the road.

Dalyn Dawkins ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Quick also had a 17-yard TD reception.

No. 13 Newport Central Catholic 62, Bishop Brossart 0: All three of Thoroughbreds quarterback Brady Hightchew's completions were for touchdowns in his team's rout of visiting Bishop Brossart.

Hightchew also ran five times for 52 yards and a TD. Dylan Hayes added 84 rushing yards and two scores.

Breathitt Co. 35, Hazard 34: Quarterback Richard Trent scored his third touchdown of the game on a 43-yard run with 2:20 left to give the Bobcats the win at home. Trent finished with 208 rushing yards.

Breathitt's Will Collins returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and added a 1-yard TD run.
