1 player flown to hospital, 2nd suffers head injury in Warren County football game

A Warren East High School junior varsity football player was taken to a Bowling Green hospital with a concussion and another was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville with a back injury following a game Monday night with South Warren High School, according to Warren East principal Damon Tabor.

Tabor said both players had been released by Tuesday morning.

He said the injuries occurred on the same play. The player with the back injury was catching a pass, and the player with a concussion, who was treated at Bowling Green Medical Center, was blocking, he said.

Tabor declined to identify the students.

Chris Decker, athletic director at South Warren High School, said he did not have additional information about the incident.
