FRIDAY'S KICKOFFS

City games

Boyle County (3-3) at Lexington Catholic (5-1): These teams have met 18 times in 15 years. Boyle County holds an 11-7 edge. Ten of the games have been decided by seven points or less.

Bryan Station (4-1) at Lafayette (3-3): The Generals have beaten Bryan Station 10 of the last 11 years. The Defenders are averaging 47 points and 440 yards a game this year.

Madison Central (3-2) at Henry Clay (3-3): Coach Sam Simpson says his Blue Devils must improve their passing game. They've thrown for 596 yards and four touchdowns, with five interceptions.

Tates Creek (2-4) at Paul Laurence Dunbar (2-3): Dunbar tries to end a six-year, 18-game losing streak against city competition. Tates Creek has 17 turnovers; its opponents have eight.

Top state game

St. Xavier (4-2) vs. Trinity (5-0) at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, 8 p.m.: Trinity's 30-game winning streak includes four victories over St. Xavier by an average score of 41-6.
