Reese Ryan threw for five touchdowns, Jaylen Jones added two TDs on the ground and host Lexington Catholic fended off a late Madison Central rally to take a 46-41 victory.
LexCath (2-3) set the tone early, scoring on three consecutive possessions to go up 19-0 early. They led 26-6 after the first half.
The Indians (1-4) outscored the Knights 23-20 in the third quarter, highlighted by junior running back Johan Williams' TD runs of 70 and 49 yards.
Williams scored a third TD — a 7-yarder — in the fourth quarter, in which Central outscored LexCath 12-0. However, the Indians failed to recover an onside kick following a 15-yard TD pass from Zach Hardin to John Williams to get them to within five points.
Ryan finished with 418 yards on 22-for-27 passing. He hit six different receivers, including Andy Thompson, who made four receptions for 149 yards and two TDs.
Jones rushed for 160 yards on 26 attempts. His 34-yard score with 1:07 left in the third quarter put LexCath up 46-29.
