Racecar Rhapsody, the fourth-place finisher behind Big Brown in the Preakness this year, has been sent to Russia for an expected start in the Russian Derby at the Moscow Hippodrome later this month.
Racecar Rhapsody was previously owned by Kentucky Speedway founder Jerry Carroll, but Carroll sold the son of Tale of the Cat to undisclosed interests earlier this summer.
“It was an international deal,” Carroll said Saturday from Kentucky Speedway. “It was going to be a Russian buyer but the money was going to come from a bank in Dubai or something. Who really owns him we don't know, but he's in Russia now. He'll be treated good.”
