3-year-old ties mile record

Canadian-owned Somebeachsomewhere matched the fastest mile in harness racing history Saturday, finishing in 1:464⁄5 in a Bluegrass Stakes division for 3-year-old pacers at The Red Mile.

Driven by Paul MacDonell, Somebeachsomewhere tied a mark set by Holborn Hanover in 2006 at the Meadowlands.

Holborn Hanover was then 5. Somebeachsomewhere's time is fastest by a 3-year-old, breaking the mark of 1:47 set by Art Official at the Meadowlands in July. That race is Somebeachsomewhere's only loss in 17 career starts.
