The Red Mile meet starts Sunday night with 16 harness races on the program. The eight-week meet will feature racing on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays (off this Monday, Aug. 30 and Sept. 20). First post is 6:30 p.m.
Promotions this year will include "Dollar/College Night" on Thursdays. A valid college ID is good for free admission and a free race program. The cost is $1 each for draft beers, soft drinks, hot dogs and admission. "Sippin' Sundays" will feature wine and bourbon specials. There will be a nightly $1 Pick 4 wager with an estimated pool of $10,000 on races 7-10.
The Grand Circuit meet starts Oct. 13 and runs through Oct. 23. There will be live racing Wednesdays through Saturdays starting at 12:30 p.m. The third leg of trotting's Triple Crown, the Kentucky Futurity, is scheduled for Oct. 16. Purses will be more than $8 million.
