TV schedule set for WEG

Television viewers in Lexington will have access to more than 30 hours of live and taped coverage of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games under an agreement announced Thursday by NBC Sports and Insight Communications.

The schedule includes 81/2 hours of live coverage on NBC (Channel 18 in Lexington) and more than 15 hours of live coverage on cable network Universal Sports.

Universal Sports is a channel not ordinarily available on Insight cable, but subscribers will be able to access it on a trial basis beginning Friday.

Insight customers who have either a digital box or mini-box on their TVs will be able to view the Universal Sports coverage on Channel 565. More than 90 percent of Insight residential customers have the necessary box, spokesman Jason Keller said Thursday.

TV coverage begins Saturday night with the opening ceremonies live on WLEX-18.

Viewers interested in additional coverage have several options. Visit Universalsports.com and FEITV.org for paid options and USEFNetwork.com for free coverage.
