Lexington's Horse Racing Radio Network wins Media Eclipse Award

The Lexington-based Horse Racing Radio Network has won the Media Eclipse Award in the Audio/Multimedia Internet category for its live coverage of the 2010 Breeders' Cup World Championships.

"It's overwhelming to win the Eclipse Award," said Mike Penna, president of HRRN. "It's the highest honor we have in our sport. To win an Eclipse is the ultimate recognition for our broadcast team."

The network provided 10 hours of coverage during the two-day Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5-6. The award-winning coverage was produced by Adam Frenier and John Edwards, and Penna served as host.

The 40th annual Eclipse Awards presentation ceremony will be held Jan. 17 in Miami Beach, Fla.
