A horse bred by Central Kentuckians was named Standardbred Horse of the Year, Pacer of the Year and 3-Year-Old Male Pacer of the Year at the annual Dan Patch Awards banquet Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
On hand for the awards were the breeders of Rock N Roll Heaven, Charles "Cotton" Nash and his wife, Julie Nash, of Lexington; and Cotton Nash's sister, Francene Nash. Steve Stewart is also one of the horse's breeders.
The awards are voted upon and presented by the U.S. Harness Writers Association.
Rock N Roll Heaven had a 10-race win streak that included a world-record performance in the Little Brown Jug.
Rock N Roll Heaven's dam, Artistic Vision, owned by Cotton, Julie and Francene Nash, was named Pacing Broodmare of the Year on Sunday.
