Junior League Horse Show competition starts Monday

The 75th annual Junior League Horse Show kicks off competition Monday night at The Red Mile in Lexington. Organizers expect 30,000 spectators for the six-day event, the first leg of the saddlebred Triple Crown.

Events on the first night start at 7 p.m. General admission tickets may be purchased at or at the door. They are $5 per person Monday through Thursday and $10 per person Friday and Saturday nights. Children under 6 are admitted free and parking is free at The Red Mile. Proceeds from the competition, which features nearly 1,000 participants vying for more than $75,000 in prize money, go to non-profit organizations.
