Born: Sept. 1, 1947 Raised in Winchester Attended University of Kentucky 1968-1971; did not complete a degree Administrative assistant to the state Commissioner of Parks, 1972-1975 Staff member, Democratic National Committee, 1975-1977 Executive assistant to Sen. Wendell Ford, 1977-1981 Kentucky Thoroughbred Association executive vice president, 1981-1988 The Jockey Club, executive vice president and executive director, 1989-until he took over at Keeneland. Served on loan as chief operating officer, National Thoroughbred Racing Association Officially took over as Keeneland president from retiring William C. Greely March 1, 2000, after starting at Keeneland in January.
